AMICHIEN BONDING©

What is AMICHIEN BONDING©?
Jan Fennell, the “Dog Listener” developed this revolutionary method of improving a dog’s behavior. The word “Amichien” is a combination of the French words “ami” (friend) and “chien” (dog). It is an alternative to traditional dog training methods which are based on obedience and bending the dog’s will to please the human. AMICHIEN BONDING© uses the dog’s instinctual language and behavioral hierarchy in a kind and cooperative manner. It is simple and effective and uses no force, pain or fancy gadgets. The dog and human relax into a mutually cooperative, gentle relationship.

How does AMICHIEN BONDING© work?
For millions of years canines have communicated with each other using behavioral hierarchies within their packs. Survival of the pack depends upon all members in the pack looking to its leader, the Alpha, in decision making. AMICHIEN BONDING© teaches dog owners to assume the role of Alpha within their pack. Dogs living in a human world cannot successfully assume the leadership role. Trying to do so creates stress in the dog which leads to behavioral problems such as:

  • aggression
  • destruction of your home and belongings
  • soiling in the home
  • pulling on the leash
  • nervousness
  • following you around the house
  • not coming when called
  • barking continually
  • jumping up on people

By getting your dog to elect you leader of the pack you take away the stress and confusion the dog feels trying to do that job in a world it doesn't’t understand.

How can I become leader of the pack?
AMICHIEN BONDING© identifies four main principles of pack hierarchy. By learning these principles and using them to communicate with your dog in a calm, consistent and convincing way, you show the dog that you are the Alpha and leader of the pack. He learns that you will protect and look after him and that his survival depends upon it. It allows the dog to relax and use his own internal controls to make positive choices. Most negative behaviors will naturally subside.

For a dog, everyday is a day of a 1,000 threats.
